Description

Power industry equipment manufacturer is actively searching for a Senior Aerodynamics Engineer for a position located in Southern California. Requires a BSME or BSAE and minimum of five (5) or more years of turbomachinery design or test experience. MS or PhD is a plus. Must have a background in turbomachinery or high-speed rotating machinery. This position is responsible for a wide range of design and testing tasks relating to turbine related components. Prefer experience with radial turbomachinery technology. Must have demonstrated capability to model fluid/power systems and aerodynamic systems including turbines and turbine components. Must have a strong background in computational fluid dynamics with emphasis on rotating systems. Must have evidence of good mechanical and fabrication skills. Must have a thorough theoretical and practical knowledge of combustion, rotating machinery, power generation, and testing methodologies required for microturbine systems. Must have the ability to perform performance analysis and customer certification of delivered microturbine systems. Requires the desire to work in a fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where growth and professionalism will be achieved largely through creativity, high integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment, sense of urgency, a balance between strategic and tactical skills and a willingness to roll up the sleeves.
